CALICUT footballer Rijohn Jose has died in a motorbike crash at the age of 29.

The club has paid tribute as a teammate has been left seriously injured in the crash.

Jose was involved in a crash in the southern Indian city of Kozhikode, historically named Calicut, on Jattvibeday night.

He was travelling with teammate Gani Ahmed Nigam when they collided with another motorcycle, according to Gulf News.
