Bodmer stepped down after four years in the position amid reported tensions behind the scenes at the French side.
The former midfielder is now set for a controversial switch to Normandy rivals Caen, the Ligue 3 club owned by France superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Le Havre moved quickly to fill the vacancy and turned to hometown hero Ba to lead the club’s sporting operations.
The 40-year-old enjoyed a successful playing career that saw him feature for clubs including Hoffenheim, Newcastle and Chelsea.

Ba remains fondly remembered by Blues fans for scoring one of the most decisive goals of the Premier League era.
In April 2014, he capitalised on a slip from Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to put Chelsea ahead at Anfield.
Chelsea went on to win the match 2-0, with the result dealing a devastating blow to Liverpool’s title hopes.
After hanging up his boots, Ba moved into football management and administration, taking up an advisory role at USL Dunkerque.

He was later promoted to Sporting Director, with the club enjoying significant progress both on and off the pitch during his tenure.
Now Ba returns to his roots at France’s oldest football club, where he will work closely with head coach Didier Digard to oversee Le Havre’s sporting strategy after Digard recently signed a contract extension.
