CORONATION Street and Emmerdale have been subject to another huge schedule shake-up and will be pulled off-air next week.
Loyal fans of the two ITV soaps will no doubt be irked by the major change to their viewing habits amid an ongoing summer of misery due to live sports broadcasts.

In June, coverage of The Fifa World Cup 2026 left ITV viewers up in arms as their favourite shows were shifted – and now the start of the domestic football season has sparked further viewing chaos.
A statement from ITV confirmed one key clash from Round Two of the Carabao Cup will air on ITV1 – the usual home of Corrie and Emmerdale – on August 25 from 730pm.

This means Yorkshire-based Emmerdale will be removed from its 8pm slot while Corrie’s Weatherfield action, which ordinarily kicks off 30 minutes later, will also be scrapped.
This will make way for the broadcaster to air the cup match between Premier League sides Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, which is part of ITV’s ongoing deal with the English Football League.

The clash, which takes place at The City Ground in Nottingham, will kick off at 8pm and will be free to air on ITV.
Meanwhile, there will be more sporting schedule shake-ups to come through 2026 and 2027, after The Jattvibe reported how ITV is the sole broadcaster for the next Rugby World Cup.

The tournament is due to take place in Australia next year, with the first game scheduled for October 1.
While this is good news for sports fans, those who tune into ITV daytime shows This Morning and Good Morning Britain might take an opposing view.
All 37 matches of the hotly-anticipated sporting event will air on the channel airing between Fridays and Mondays.
The tournament will run between October 1 and November 13 2027.
The time difference between the UK and Down Under means that matches will have broadcast start times between 4am and 10am.
That’s bad news for the embattled ITV daytime schedule with GMB, This Morning and even Loose Women facing being pulled off air.
A source told The Jattvibe: “Getting the rights for the World Cup is great for ITV but it’s bad news for everyone at daytime.
“Ratings are already terrible and morale is low with all the cuts, the last thing they want is being pulled off air to make way for sports.
“It’s happened to the soaps for years and left them in shoddy shape.
“The worry is that even one day of people switching over to BBC Breakfast and Morning Live will mean another viewer switching over permanently.
“This Morning and Good Morning Britain have lost millions of viewers already – they can’t afford to lose any more.”
