DONALD Trump has announced he will unleash the “MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN” against Iran.
The US president vowed to launch an “economic D-Day” mission against the “maniac” regime as the war between Tehran and Washington drags on.

Trump’s furious remarks come after he declared the Strait of Hormuz an American territory earlier this week.
He said on Truth Social: “Today, I am announcing the MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY!

“This will be Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale.
“Their navy is gone, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are now rubble, their currency is worthless, and their country is hanging by a thread.”

He continued: “Today, I am also announcing that ANY country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences.
“Oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies — It all needs to stop NOW.
“You know who you are. This will be an ECONOMIC D-DAY, and we need all of our Allies to stand with the United States of America to isolate, and defeat, the Iran threat.
“These maniacs are on the ropes, and these HISTORIC MEASURES will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide.”
The raging threats come as both sides continue to launch tit-for-tat strikes on each other following the collapse of the temporary ceasefire in July.
The US and Iran had reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in June, which gave them a time frame to end the war for good.
But during these talks the pause in fighting fell through as both sides accused each other of breaching the agreement.
Trump declared the peace deal “over” in early July and Tehran said talks had been suspended shortly after that.
The US president also vowed to “bomb the s**t” out of Oman if negotiators got in the way of direct talks between Washington and Tehran.
Oman has acted as a key mediator between Washington and Tehran over recent months as both sides try to end the spiralling fighting.
But fears have mounted in the White House that Muscat may be siding with the mullah regime and giving them favourable conditions.
The US president told Fox News: “If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb the s**t out of them.”
Trump then posted a map on social media labelling the Strait of Hormuz as American in his latest bid to annex the critical shipping route.
His declaration came amid Washington’s prolonged blockade of Iranian ports.
Iran has also said the Strait of Hormuz will remain shut until the US respects the MoU signed in June.
The conditions of the short-lived deal state the US must lift its blockade of Iran’s ports, remove sanctions, release frozen assets and end military operations.
Under the MoU, Iran and the US had committed to negotiating a final deal to end the war for good in a maximum of 60 days.
The final talks would have finally covered off more sensitive issues such as the fate of Iran’s nuclear programme.
But with the MoU off the table and peace talks seemingly stalling, it is currently unclear whether Trump’s latest plan will bring the war any closer to an end.
