The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the results of the Class X examinations. This year, 93.70 per cent students cleared the exam as compared to 93.66 per cent in 2025, said the board.Girls again performed slightly better than boys. Girls recorded a pass rate of 94.99 per cent, while 92.69 per cent boys cleared the exam. Among the transgender category, the pass percentage was 87.50.The CBSE, Panchkula region, which is the administrative hub for Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, recorded the pass percentage of 92.24. Likewise, Delhi West and Delhi East regions logged the pass rate of 97.45 per cent and 97.33 per cent, respectively. With 99.79 per cent students clearing the exam, Trivandrum and Vijaywada regions were the toppers.The board said it avoided “unhealthy competition” among the students by not declaring merit lists. Also, the CBSE does not award first, second or third divisions to its students.At the Class X level, the CBSE offers 84 subjects, the highest number among any national or international board. Examinations are conducted worldwide at Indian Standard Time, ensuring uniformity and fairness.In line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy, the CBSE has introduced two board examinations for Class X students this year. The first examination was held in February-March and the second is scheduled for May. Students can now submit their candidature for the second examination through their respective schools.A separate circular will be issued by the CBSE to guide them through the process.The students who participated in international or national sports events will be allowed to appear in the second board examinations.Given the prevailing situation in West Asian countries, the CBSE also decided to release the results of students from this region simultaneously with other students.
