Girls sweep top three spots in PSEB Class XII exams with perfect score

Three girl students have scripted history by securing 500 marks out of 500 in the Class XII board exams conducted by the Punjab School Education Board. The results were declared on Wednesday.Supneet Kaur of Gurukul Academy Public Senior Secondary School, Ubbha (Mansa), clinched the top spot with perfect score in science stream. Suhani Chauhan of BCM Senior Secondary School, Jamalpur Colony, Focal Point, Ludhiana; and Divanshi of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimlapuri (Ludhiana), bagged the second and third positions, respectively, in humanities with perfect score. Suhani Chauhan of BCM Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana; and Divanshi of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, bagged the second and third positions, respectively, in humanities with perfect score.In all, 2,65,417 students appeared for the annual examination and 2,42,755 of them cleared it, registering an overall pass percentage of 91.46. Commerce stream recorded the highest pass percentage at 98.78 with 34,074 of 34,496 students clearing the exam. In science stream, 55,593 out of total 56,456 students (98.47 per cent) passed the exam, while the pass percentage was 87.74 in case of humanities stream that saw 1,45,179 of 1,65,457 students clear the exam. In vocational stream, 7,909 of 9,008 students (87.80 per cent) cleared the exam.‘Reflection of the relentless hard work’“This result is a reflection of the relentless hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and the systematic reforms introduced by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led state government,” said Education Minister Harjot Bains.Lauding the three toppers for their excellence, Bains wished all successful students the very best for their future. He also noted that multiple perfect scores across different streams were remarkable. He credited the state’s focus on digital classrooms, teacher training and timely syllabus completion for the improved outcome.
