GLADIATORS legend John Fashanu has made some bold claims as he opens up on divorcing his “liar” wife, who he said caused a feud between him and his daughter.
The former England football player has now apologised to his daughter, Amal, for spreading misinformation about her.

John, 63, took to Instagram to take a scathing swipe at his “soon-to-be-ex-wife,” Vivian.
He said: “I’m here to clarify a few things, very important things. The video I previously did was wrong.

“I was misinformed by my wife Vivian, who I’m sorry to say I am divorcing her. Now that I am aware of the truth to my daughter Amal and legal action will be taken against the liar.”
The bombshell clip was filmed outside in a garden with John donning a shirt, black suit trousers and a pair of matching sunglasses.

John captioned the post: “I was the one who called my daughter, Amal, to become involved in my business because she is my first daughter, and she has always held a very special place in my heart.
“Sadly, I allowed myself to be misinformed and influenced. My soon-to-be ex-wife, Vivian, created unnecessary division between me and my daughter, and I deeply regret allowing that to happen.”

Speaking further on the feud, John added: “Amal, I want to publicly say I’m sorry for that previous video. It was made at a time when I was listening to someone else’s anger instead of following my own heart.
“The truth is, Amal and I have a wonderful relationship. She will always be my first daughter, and she will always have a place by my side, helping me with my affairs.”
“I couldn’t be prouder of the intelligent, strong and compassionate woman she has become,” he said.
“What makes me even prouder is that she never chose to retaliate. As she always says, ‘Two wrongs don’t make a right.’
“Those words have stayed with me, and they say everything about the kind of person she is.”
John told his fans that “life is too short for division” as he hinted he and Amal are working to rebuild their close bond.
He continued: “I’m grateful that love has always been stronger than misunderstanding.”
In May, John denied claims that Amal made about him in an interview with the Daily Mail.
At the time, he insisted that he was happily married to Vivian and accused his daughter, 37, of trying to defame him.
John spent the peak of his club football career at Wimbledon, where he scored over 100 goals and won the 1988 FA Cup.
He later retired due to injury and joined the hit Saturday night show Gladiators, at its launch in 1992, as a co-presenter alongside Ulrika Jonsson.
While he wasn’t a competitor in the arena, he presented the telly series from 1992 to 1996 and was best known for his “awooga” catchphrase.
