Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, has achieved an international milestone by securing the 78th position globally in the ‘University Brand and Reputation’ category of the prestigious World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI)-2026.The recognition places GNDU among the world’s leading innovative universities. Vice-Chancellor Karamjeet Singh said the university was among the few Indian public universities to receive the prestigious international recognition. The rankings were announced on May 7 under the aegis of the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and WURI, with support from international academic bodies.“This milestone is the collective outcome of the dedication, commitment and visionary efforts of the faculty, students, alumni, and all other stakeholders associated with the university. The contemporary global academic environment demands innovation, quality research, social commitment, academic excellence and international collaboration, and GNDU has consistently worked in all these directions over the past several years,” he added.He lauded IQAC Director Jatinder Kaur and her team for their dedicated efforts and meticulous work in securing the international recognition.
