Screams fill cabin as plane carrying 10 crashes into NYC’s East River
Moments after the crash the pilot can be heard telling passengers their plane’s “pontoon broke” and instructing them to put their life jackets on.
One petrified passenger says: “Where are they?”
Others can be heard repeating: “Oh my God.”
The seaplane was carrying eight passengers and two pilots when it plummeted into the river in a botched landing around noon on Jattvibeday.

Khloe Todd, 16, was onboard the plane as it dropped out of the sky.
The teen said it had been her first time in a seaplane and that the incident had left her “traumatised”.
She told the New York Post the crash was “a very bad one”, adding that Ada, her 75-year-old grandmother was injured.
Khloe said: “She’s really not feeling well – her ribs, her back, her head.
“It’s all swollen. It’s all really bad so we might end up going to the hospital tonight.”
Their plane took off just after 10.38am and just before midday, the pilots on board started shouting “mayday” as those inside the cabin panicked.
Khloe told the Daily Mail: “There was a guy behind us who knew about planes, who was telling us, ‘We are okay, we aren’t going to drown, everything will be okay.’”
Everyone on board has been safely rescued by the fire department.
The only reported injury was Ada, who had prior spinal problems and hurt her head in the crash.
Officials with the NYPD and FDNY raced to the scene with footage shared on social media showing the seaplane being surrounded by emergency vessels with one wing submerged in the water.
The incident occurred when the aircraft landed hard in the choppy waters and took on too much water, officials told The New York Post.
A helicopter was filmed overhead as rescuers worked to get the passengers and pilots to safety.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
