GREAT ACCLAIM (2.35 Newbury, nap)
Hasn’t had much luck in big-field handicaps this summer. He was arguably unlucky not to win the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot and was never able to get involved at the same track last month having been given plenty to do. This is an easier race on paper and trainer Eve Johnston Houghton has been in good form.
SWIPED (3.55 Ripon, nb)
Ralph Beckett’s three-year-old arrives here seeking a hat-trick – and having not finished outside of the top two in five races since May 23. He has shown real guts at the end of his races and has struck up a good relationship with Rhys Clutterbuck.
EABHA (3.13 Newmarket, treble)
Billy Loughnane takes over on Eve Johnson Houghton’s two-year-old filly who is another tip seeking a hat-trick. She was carried left by the much more fancied Godolphin runner last time (ridden by Loughnane) but plugged on well to suggest she’ll know her job again here.

DUBAI HONOUR will be hard to beat if anywhere near his best on his first run since April.
William Haggas’ eight-year-old was last seen finishing fourth in a very valuable race in Australia four months ago.
His biggest wins have come abroad, but he is a rock-solid Group performer in Europe.
His record fresh is pretty good overall and he should have enough stamina in reserve for this slightly longer trip.
There is very little between Mount Atlas and Tabletalk, with the former winning by a head when they clashed at York last time.
He is fancied to confirm the form, though he’ll ideally need a strong pace and carries a 3lb penalty.
Rebel Rocker ran with plenty of credit at long odds when sixth in the Derby, and he is an interesting contender stepped up in trip, though this will be the fastest ground he’s ever tackled.
1.55
RHYTHM AND HOOVES has been kept busy by Robert Cowell since winning this race last year.
He’s run 15 times in all without getting his head back in front, but he has slipped a whopping 9lb below his last winning mark as a result.
And there have been hints that an eighth career win might not be far away, as he wasn’t beaten far, finishing well at Ascot last month.
He appeals at a decent price, with the William Haggas class-dropper Kinswoman the likely biggest danger.
Stakes company has proven too strong for her lately but she has some solid handicap form at this sort of level.
The consistent Glamorous Breeze went close at Goodwood and is firmly in the mix, as is Sandown winner Wheels Of Fire who commands respect despite a 6lb hike in the weights.

Scoville didn’t have much chance in the Golden Mile at Goodwood having been stuck wide and is worth another chance.
Stellar Jattviberise had some strong form in the spring but has lost his way the last twice.
He could be dangerous if perked up by cheekpieces.
Humam isn’t the easiest but if he is able to get away well and pinch the lead he might take some pegging back.

NEVER SO BRAVE can show enough courage to win an interesting Hungerford Stakes.
Andrew Balding’s runner ran out a gutsy winner of the City Of York Stakes just under a year ago and didn’t run badly in a red-hot Sussex behind Bow Echo last time.
This is more his level and the return to seven furlongs can see him return to winning ways.
Witness Stand looks the main danger.
Winner of the Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last season and ran with great credit in the same race 18 days ago, beaten a length into third – that was his best run of the season.
Coppull ran better than the bare result in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, racing on the wrong side of the track, and finished a fine fourth in the July Cup last time.
Obvious contender if he copes with the step up in distance.

WITH very little form to go on, MISTER WHIPPY looks the safest choice.
He ran green but showed potential when a running-on fourth on his debut at Doncaster, and the second has since come out and given the form a boost.
Owen Burrows has given Mosheer some fancy entries, in the Champagne and Royal Lodge Stakes, so he is worth close market inspection on his racecourse debut.
Silent Force is well-bred and trainer Andrew Balding is more than capable of getting one ready first-time out.
Lots Road cost £100,000 and is another worth following in the betting for his powerful stable.
Red Tail was second on his first ever start just eight days ago, but it was in a five-runner race at Brighton and this will undoubtedly prove tougher.
NEWMARKET
2.10
STRIKE won this race four years ago and got his head back in front at Nottingham last time.
Jonathan Portman’s eight-year-old is still on a winning mark and capable of making a bold bid under Billy Loughnane.
He was beaten a head by Archduke Ferdinand in the 2025 renewal, and his old rival will likely prove the main danger.
Like the selection, he regained the winning thread on his most recent outing and jockey Shay Farmer takes off a very handy 5lb.
Havana Blue has rattled the crossbar on his last three starts, and his winless streak now stretches back two years.
He is still competitively weighted but might come up short again.
The three-year-old handicap debutant Nevasca Cinza has less mileage on his legs than most of these and it appears trainer James Fanshawe has targeted this race for some time.
RIPON
2.55
GRANT WOOD goes well at Ripon and won this race a couple of years ago off a 3lb higher mark.
He could be drawn on the right side of the track in terms of pace and his fourth behind Lord Roxby last time suggested he was coming back into form.
This is wide-open, though, and Woodstock is a big threat.
He travelled like the winner over seven furlongs at Thirsk last time and will be happier back down in trip.
Go Vince Go has slipped to a decent mark and he ran well to finish third at York.
He’s in contention, as is Glory Hyde who was on a roll at this track before finding the competition too hot to handle at York the last twice.
Educating Rita and Magic Boy are both pretty consistent and hold each-way claims.

DARK CLOUD RISING has run well on both of his visits to Ripon and can land the track’s most valuable race of the summer.
He has been much more consistent since being fitted with a visor, winning comfortable over C&D before a fine second here last time.
He was second to the re-opposing Lord Roxby that day but he gets a 5lb pull at the weights this time.
Lord Roxby still demands a great deal of respect and he is clearly in fine form.
Fast Track Harry bumped into a rapid improver at Ascot last month and he would have an excellent shout if stepping forward himself.
Fortification ran a rare bad race at York last time, but he was hampered early on and is worth another chance.
Aramram, who is Stakes-class on his day, and Royal Zabeel also make the shortlist in a typically puzzling renewal.
