Whether the reinstating was the right choice, who knows. But the North East side have to take full advantage.
They’re now favourites to go up having finished seven points ahead of Hull in the league but Hull did win their last meeting in December.
They both bring very similar form into the contest, with Hull doing superbly well having drawn 0-0 with Millwall in the first leg of their semi final before heading to London to win 2-0 and book their spot here.
They too will be disrupted in their preparations having now been left with a different opponent.
