Bradford’s longtime friend Shelicka Decker was left stunned by the circumstances surrounding the grim discovery.
“I have so many questions, like, what were you doing in the car with her that amount of time while she was deceased,” she told local outlet WREG.
“Where was his mind at during that ride? Like, it’s so crazy. It’s so crazy and heartbreaking.”
Decker claimed Bradford had been secretly preparing to leave her husband after their years-long marriage reportedly became strained.
She said her friend had even saved money and devised a plan to disappear and start over.
“She had the money saved up. She had come up with a plan, and she was going to just vanish. That was the only way she would be able to get away from him,” Decker said.
“She was going to leave her car, she was going to leave all the things behind, and she had been in touch with her family that was out of town, and that’s how she was going to make this move to get away.”
Decker claimed Brazille had previously threatened to kill Bradford or himself when his wife tired to leave him.
She also alleged Bradford had told her that Brazille had only recently become physically violent.
“He never put his hands on her up until recently, like maybe like two or three months ago,” she said.
“It wouldn’t have surprised me if someone had called and said that he killed himself because he always says this. It surprised me that he killed her.”
Bradford worked at an elementary school in Baton Rouge and according to reports, she was reported missing after she failed to turn up for work for several days.
Her school is said to have requested a welfare check at her home before news emerged of her death.
The couple did not have children of their own, according to Decker, who said Bradford instead poured her heart into the youngsters she worked with.
“It’s such an unfortunate situation, like everybody, she was such a good person. Everybody, she uplifted a lot of people, a lot of parents,” she said.
“My prayers are with her family and friends as well as his, because we were all friends. We all, you know, hung around each other, and this is just not the same person that we grew up with.”
Brazille was arrested in Memphis and booked in as a fugitive.
He is due to appear in court on Monday as authorities seek to extradite him back to Louisiana.
Brazille is expected to face a murder charge over Bradford’s death once he is returned to the state.
