A MAJOR stationery chain will permanently pull the shutters on a town centre branch later today.
The closure comes after the store was “unable to agree on commercially viable terms” with the site’s landlord.

The TG Jones on Ipswich high street will officially close its doors at the end of the business day today (Saturday, June 6).
This closure ends a decade-long chapter for the store at the town centre site.
Previously operating as WH Smith, the stationery shop first opened at the location in the 1970s.
WH Smith was purchased in a rescue deal by investment firm Modella Capital, with high street locations beginning to trade under the new name in 2025.

The Post Office located inside the building will also close later today, following the resignation of the postmaster.
TG Jones previously said: “We are working hard to support colleagues who will be affected by this.
“We’d like to thank the local community for their support, and customers can visit our website for home deliveries.”
The announcement of the closure was met with sadness by Ipswich leaders, with officials describing it as a “blow” to the town’s high street.
Shoppers have just a few hours left to nab last minute deal’s from the store’s 70 per cent off clearance sale.
