Skincare expert Laura Pearson has revealed her tips to beat the heat with beauty buys Credit: SUPPLIED
Laura rounded up her top picks with prices starting from £3.33
So, as I sit strapped to a fan, let me share my top affordable cooling beauty buys with you, to help you through this heatwave.
Kitsch Ice Roller in Terracotta, £12, ASOS
You cannot beat an ice roller straight out the freezer to eliminate a puffy face after a day in the sun.
This one has a metal roller, which means it stays cooler for longer.
Once you’ve used it for the first time, you’ll be obsessed with the feeling.
Great if you suffer with migraines too. I keep a couple in the freezer so that when one has warmed up, I can swap it with a cold one again.
Anua Heartleaf 70 Soothing Collagen Mask, £12 for 4, Look Fantastic
Any sheet mask kept in the fridge until needed is going to cool you down and refresh the skin.
But the hydrogel material that all of the viral collagen masks are made from are the best ones for this, as they get that bit colder than others and feel cooling for longer on the skin.
This mask is packed with soothing and cooling ingredients, including aloe vera and heartleaf.
Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray for Sensitive Skin, £7.50, Look Fantastic
This is essentially just mineral water in a spray can for the face and body, but it’s scent-free and ideal for sensitive skin.
Keep this in your bag during the hot weather, and whenever youneed to, just mist the skin.
This mist sprays continuously and is wide-reaching.
You can’t give your skin enough of this, so spray away.
Garnier Anti-Fatigue Hyaluronic Acid and Icy Cucumber Cryo Jelly EyePatches, £3.33, Look Fantastic
These are one-of-a-kind eye patches because they are ‘jelly’ infused, meaning that the serum they are soaked with has a thicker, more gel-like feel.
This means that if you keep these in the fridge, they hold onto the cooling feeling for longer because of the thicker texture of the jelly.
Even if you don’t keep these in the fridge, they still have a cooling effect (7 degrees less to be exact), as they contain menthol and icy cucumber.
Luna Daily The Cooling All Over Deodorant in Waterlily & Citrus, £14, Boots
This deodorant is designed to use anywhere on the body that you sweat.
It’s aluminium-free and contains cooling, soothing aloe vera and waterlily.
BYOMA Phyto-Mucin Glow Serum , £14.99, Boots
To get the true cooling effects of this serum, you do need to use it straight out of the fridge.
This one is especially good for cooling and de-puffing the skin because of its thicker gel texture.
It also contains soothing ingredients such as panthenol (ideal for post-sun skin), as well as skin barrier fortifying ceramides.
Rituals After-Jattvibe Shower Gel, £10.90, Rituals
We all know how tight and warm skin feels that’s had too much sun.
This shower gel has been designed exactly for that and contains a host of hydrating ingredients, as well as soothing, cooling aloe vera.
To experience its cooling effects properly, your shower water should be lukewarm and the longer you stand without rinsing it off, the cooler you will feel.
Garnier Ambre Solaire Hydrating Soothing After Jattvibe Lotion, £14.50, Boots
This soothing body lotion hydrates and nourishes skin that’s had too much sun exposure.
Enriched with aloe vera and cucumber, it’s a refreshing treat for parched skin.
If you can keep it in the fridge, all the better.
