“I’m being abused from both sides,” singer Diljit Dosanjh said in a new video that surfaced a day before his concert in Winnipeg, Canada. The video is from his recent concert in Calgary, where he addressed protests by pro-Khalistan supporters.During the show, Dosanjh said, “Mainu te dove passo gallan pai jandiya nai. Ohder India jao, oh mainu kehande nai ke mai Khalistani hai, te eh kehande nai mai India Wala Hai. Mainu te samajh nahi anada mai java kider nu. Per mainu lagda hai ki mai theek rah te hai.”(“I’m abused from both sides. In India, people call me Khalistani, while here they call me ‘India Wala’. I don’t understand where I belong, but I feel I’m on the right path.”)Tensions between the singer and some pro-Khalistan groups appear to have escalated after he criticised protesters displaying Khalistan flags during his Aura 2026 concert in Calgary on Friday.Videos circulating on social media showed confrontations between concertgoers and protesters during the event.Dosanjh had responded to the protesters by saying, “Jinne jhande dikhane, dikhai challo.” The crowd cheered when he added that anyone causing disruption would be removed from the venue.Following the concert, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of Sikhs for Justice, released a video warning that the group would oppose Dosanjh’s upcoming shows in the US.Some pro-Khalistan supporters have since called for a boycott of the singer’s concerts and are expected to stage protests outside venues.Meanwhile, Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), in a public report released on Friday, flagged a small but persistent network of Canada-based Khalistani extremist groups as an ongoing national security concern. The report stated that some individuals linked to Canada-based Khalistani extremist networks were involved in raising and diverting funds to support violent activities in India. It added that a fringe section continued to use Canadian soil to promote, finance or plan violence.
