IRAN has launched fresh strikes targeting US bases across the Middle East after Washington blitzed a key island – in the latest test of the teetering ceasefire.
Kuwaiti air defences intercepted a wave of missiles and drones on Wednesday morning – with Tehran claiming responsibility for the bombardment.

The latest rocket salvo comes as the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran continues to sway on a knife’s edge.
US Central Command (Centcom) said they “successfully defeated multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones”.
Washington also confirmed they conducted “self-defense strikes on Qeshm Island in response to attempted attacks by Iran across the Middle East, June 2”.
They said Iran had launched “several ballistic missiles” towards Gulf allies – but noted that all failed to hit their intended targets.

Centcom said: “Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart enroute, and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by U.S. and Bahrain air defense forces.”
Stunning footage showed missiles raining down over Kuwait as air defence systems brought the Iranian bombs down.
Explosions have also been reported in Iraq and Bahrain – with local authorities urging locals to rush to the nearest safe space.
Bahrain’s interior ministry said: “The siren has been sounded. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place.”

The fresh blasts come after US “self-defense strikes” on Iran’s Qeshm Island.
Tehran claimed their renewed strikes on Kuwait were in response to these explosions – as well as an American strike on a vessel’s engine room in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US said of this blitz: “American forces also conducted self-defense strikes on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island.”
Claiming it was behind the latest attack on Kuwait, Tehran said: “The Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, by the grace and support of God, and in fulfilment of its pledge to protect the homeland, bombarded the military bases of the American occupation in the State of Kuwait.”
They claimed to have used “precise and intensive missile strikes” which caused the “successful destruction of their targets and the setting of fires in the strongholds of the aggressors”.
It comes as peace talks between Washington and Tehran have seemingly stalled, despite Donald Trump claiming that they were back on, following Israel’s ground operation in Lebanon.
On Tuesday, Centcom also posted footage of their precise strike on a rogue vessel’s engine room.
The tanker was allegedly trying to breach Trump’s blockade of Iranian ports.
The vessel, named Lexie, failed to comply with the US-enforced blockade after its crews ignored “repeated warnings” to stop.
Centcom said: “A U.S. aircraft ultimately disabled the vessel by firing a Hellfire missile into the ship’s engine room, preventing the tanker from reaching Iran.”
In the jaw-dropping clip, a white projectile can be seen cruising towards the ship before a huge explosion tears through its side.
In early May, US fighter jets shot out the rudder of an Iranian oil tanker that had tried to breach its blockade on Iranian ports in the Gulf of Oman.
American forces issued multiple warnings and informed the ship it was violating the blockade, US Central Command said in an X post.
It also comes after the US president berated Benjamin Netanyahu in a blistering verbal attack after Israel’s renewed strikes on Lebanon – telling the PM “you’re f***ing crazy”, according to US sources.
