The Manchester City man is part of the France team hoping to bring World Cup glory back to Europe in the coming weeks.

And though there were always going to be speed bumps on the way, nobody expected a squad photo to go viral for the weird way in which he was standing.
The team piled in for a photo with French president Emmanuel Macron as they prepared to jet off to the tournament in America, with the politician sharing the photo to his social media.
But fans quickly noticed that Cherki, positioned in the front row in the bottom right corner, was hitting an awkward squat.
The poor 22-year-old looked more than a bit uncomfortable and tense in the picture, leading some to joke that he needed the bathroom.

Others suggested he was squatting to allow a woman behind him to get into the picture.
But fans could not help but poke fun at the phenom regardless of the explanation behind the pose.
One fan asked: “Is cherki ok?”
Another said: “What’s Cherki doing? What kind of pose is that? Lmao.”

The eccentric winger has developed a reputation for his unusual antics on and off the pitch this season.
But he wasn’t the only one raising eyebrows in the picture.
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe also ignited comments after standing mostly in front of the president for the image, with some fans joking that he felt more important than the official.
Both men help make up probably the most talented attacking department at the tournament.
Mbappe, Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele and Inter forward Marcus Thuram can all feature through the middle or on the wings, with Jean-Philippe Mateta another option as the nine.
Michael Olise, Cherki and PSG duo Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola are all options in the wide areas, as well as young Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche giving manager Didier Deschamps a real headache as to how to get all those stars on the pitch throughout the tournament.
