A video of an Indian traveller describing his experience at a Gurdwara in Italy’s Fondi has gone viral on social media, drawing attention to hospitality, service and religious inclusivity.In the viral video, the traveller claims he has walked approximately 12,000 kilometres across 20 countries over 18 months as part of a personal mission to raise awareness about climate change.He states that his journey began in Malta and was intended to continue toward India.The traveller describes being offered shelter and food at a gurdwara in Fondi, Italy, along with his companions after arriving late at night.He claims that he contacted a phone number displayed at the premises after finding the entrance unattended. A volunteer reportedly responded and arranged access within five minutes. He says he was provided shelter and served a meal (langar), and that no questions were asked about his religion.“As they opened the door, the only thing they asked me was if have eaten parsaad,” he said.He also spoke about the Sikh tradition of langar, a community kitchen system that serves free meals to all visitors regardless of religion, nationality, caste or background.He added that his experiences at gurdwaras across multiple countries have consistently been welcoming and supportive.The video has gained significant traction online, with many users praising the values of equality, service, and community support associated with it.One commented: “Controversial kuch log karte hain….Mera khud gurudwara ka experience best raha hai aur kabhi bhi mein travel karta hoon, when I see sardars mughe pata nahi bohot safe mehesus hota hai,” another wrote: “Gurdwara is not made for GOD it’s made for humanity. Helping a humanity is priority for gurdwaras.”
