TOTTENHAM Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has suffered a fractured shoulder.
An injury update has been issued after the 29-year-old was injured in a horror 3-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday.

Spurs have confirmed that Maddison was hurt during his season-opening substitute appearance.
An MRI scan has shown a slight fracture after suffering a fall against the Bees.

It comes as the club confirms an £85 million deal to sign Savinho from Manchester City.
Maddison missed the majority of last year’s Premier League season after tearing his ACL in May 2025.

The midfielder attempted to come back during preseason, suffering a full ACL rupture in the process.
He finally returned to action in May as he went on to make three appearances to help Tottenham avoid relegation.
Maddison previously missed two months of action with an ankle injury after signing from Leicester City in June 2023.
The England international was also limited during pre-season after a reportedly minor issue.
But there is hope as head coach Roberto De Zerbi, 47, has labelled this latest setback as a “small injury.”
Maddison is expected to miss up to two weeks before being ready to return to match action.

He participated in training on Monday as Spurs hope the star makes a speedy recovery.
It is a relief for Tottenham as injuries continue to trouble the club after their 17th-placed finish last season.
Both Xavi Simons, 23, and Wilson Odobert, 21, are currently sidelined with long-term ACL injuries.
Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus, both 26, are also out of action with knee and quad injuries, respectively.
Additionally, Micky van de Ven, 25, and Pape Matar Sarr, 23, did not feature in Tottenham’s season-opener against Brentford.
De Zerbi’s side will next host Newcastle United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, August 29.
