JAMES Norton has shared why he won’t be the next actor to play James Bond – as he ruled himself out.
Since Daniel Craig left the role in 2021, rumours have been rife as to who will take his place.

Among the mooted names has been Grantchester alum James Norton, 41, – who has just removed himself from the running.
Explaining his reasons on Capital Breakfast, James said: “I’ve been asked a thousand times over the last ten years.

“And I can honestly, hand on heart, say no.”
He added to hosts Jordan North, Sian Welby and Chris Stark: “I think I may be a little bit long in the tooth now.”

It’s not the first time James has addressed speculation linking him to the Bond role – including being the bookies favourite.
He said at last year’s BAFTAS red carpet: “Whoever is deciding on these odds needs to get a new job.
“It’s so weird and bemusing.”
Continuing, James added at the time: “Yet again it’s based on pure speculation.”
In May, journalist and podcast host Marina Hyde revealed that “a number of people” have told her that Jacob Elordi was the favourite amongst bosses.
“I have heard from a number of people now that Jacob Elordi has moved into poll position,” revealed Marina to Richard Osman whilst talking on their podcast, The Rest Is Entertainment.
Although she added: “I don’t think, no one has signed anything yet.”
