JUDE BELLINGHAM had a green laser pen shone in his eye during England’s ferocious World Cup clash with Mexico.

The two-goal hero was targeted from the stands in the Azteca Stadium as the partisan crowd tried to make life difficult for the Three Lions with constant boos and even throwing bottles at times.

The green laser pen is quite visible on Jude Bellingham’s face

Despite the distraction, that didn’t stop Bellingham from scoring two goals

Luckily, the laser did not meet Bellingham’s eyes as he bore down on goal to first meet a Bukayo Saka cross and then a Harry Kane cut-back.

Jordan Henderson was also booked despite never entering the pitch in the dying embers of the game.

It was also revealed after the game that Henderson suffered a wrist injury during the celebrations, stumbling after trying to vault an advertising board.

Jarrell Quansah was sent off less than 10 minutes into the second half after VAR reviewed the high tackle he made.

The Mexican players had no problem making it a niggly affair and even moaned at the referee claiming that Nico O’Reilly had elbowed Jorge Sanchez in the mouth.

Replays showed he hadn’t.

It was a tense, borderline ill-tempered affair, but England managed to come out on top with a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

It’s just Mexico‘s third loss at the Azteca in 60 years and given the much-talked about altitude issues England had to also tackle, it cannot be overstated what a big win this was for Thomas Tuchel‘s men.

He has four goals and one assist to his name at the tournament in North America and he appears to be peaking at just the right time for England.

England will now face Norway in the quarter-final on Saturday after Erling Haaland and co. knocked Brazil out just a few hours before England’s game.
