Six days after the Vrindavan boat tragedy, the body of the last missing pilgrim, Jalalabad youth Pankaj Malhotra (33), who went missing after the boat capsized in the Yamuna river, was recovered on Thursday morning.Kuldeep Malhotra, Pankaj’s cousin, told The Tribune that the body was fished out about 7-8 km away from the site of the incident in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. He said the body was stuck in bushes under the water and was retrieved by divers.He added that relatives who had gone to bring back the body have left for Jalalabad and the cremation will take place on Friday.A boat ferrying pilgrims from Punjab capsized at Keshi Ghat in the holy town of Vrindavan on April 10, resulting in the death of 16 persons.Pankaj, the only son of his parents, was the sole breadwinner of the family. He is survived by his wife, an 8-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter. He worked at a private steel company. Family members said he used to visit Vrindavan every year with his family, but this time he had decided to travel alone.
