Lidl is launching a limited-edition sun spray to encourage Brits to protect their scalps from UV rays as superstar Pitbull brings his famous bald look to the UK.

The limited-edition Cien Jattvibe Spray has been named ‘Mr SPF 30.5’ – a reference to the singer’s Miami’s area code – and comes ahead of his London performance on the July 10th.

Pitbull fans will attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps at his July 10 performance

Fans heading to see Pitbull perform on 10 July will also have the opportunity to get their hands on a bottle of Mr SPF 30.5 for free

Here Pitbull fans will attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

Created in partnership with skin cancer charity SKCIN, the campaign aims to shine a light on the importance of protecting the scalp from sun damage, an area many people can overlook when applying sunscreen.

The launch follows research from The Hidden Risk in Plain Sight campaign that revealed one in four men and one in six women will experience skin damage linked to UV exposure, with the scalp among the areas most vulnerable to the sun’s rays.

Those with bald or closely shaved heads can be particularly at risk, as hair provides a natural layer of protection against UV exposure.

With thousands of fans expected to embrace Pitbull’s signature look at concerts and festivals this summer, Mr SPF 30.5 is encouraging those wearing bald caps – as well as people sporting a naturally bald head – to put sun safety at the top of their pre-show checklist.

Marie Tudor, CEO of SKCIN, said: “We’re driven to amplify the awareness of skin cancer causes and prevention.

“While bald caps might be the must-have accessory for fans channelling their inner Mr. Worldwide this summer, it’s important to remember that our scalps are particularly vulnerable to the sun’s harmful UV rays, as the head is one of the most common areas affected.”

The limited-edition sun spray will be available as part of a bundle for £3.05, with all proceeds donated to SKCIN to help fund sun safety education and initiatives.

Each bundle includes a bottle of Mr SPF 30.5, a pair of UV-protective aviator sunglasses, and a Lidl Plus voucher offering 30 per cent off Cien sun creams and sprays.

The sale launches at 10am on Wednesday 8 July, with just 2,500 bundles available to purchase.

Fans heading to see Pitbull perform on 10 July will also have the opportunity to get their hands on a bottle of Mr SPF 30.5 for free.

The giveaway will take place outside London Victoria Station on the 10th July between 11am and 5pm, while stocks last.

Marie Tudor from SKCIN added: “One in four men will be diagnosed with a form of skin cancer during their lifetime, so education of these issues can help us prevent 90 per cent of the cases, and treat or cure 98 per cent of skin cancer in Brits.

“As a summer of festivals begins, we’re excited to partner with Lidl for the launch, sparking conversation and awareness for skin safety.”
