ITV hope to secure Luke Littler for their World Cup coverage.

The darts sensation is one of at least four top stars who are being targeted by TV bosses.

Ant and Dec, and Littler’s darts rival Luke Humphries, could also make guest appearances.

Littler, 19, and Humphries, 31, will both be in New York for the US Darts Masters on June 25 and 26.

The Nuke has tickets to watch Thomas Tuchel’s England side take on Panama on June 27 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

So an ITV appearance would not appear to be off the cards.

Fans have heaped praise on the broadcaster for their stunning Brooklyn rooftop studio which includes the picturesque Manhattan skyline in the background.

The set sits on a purpose-built floor three metres above the original building roof.

It took six weeks to build and includes an emergency indoor green room to be used during thunderstorms.

More than 200 staff work on each broadcast with around 70 based in Brooklyn.

Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Gary Neville lead an eleven-strong lineup of pundits while Mark Pougatch and Laura Woods are among the presenters.

Speaking ahead of his and Humphries’ World Cup of Darts triumph earlier this month, Littler said: “It was in Berlin in March that I first tried my England top on.

“Someone from the PDC asked me: Are you definitely going? I said, yes. So that was settled weeks ago.

“Me and Luke, we are up for it. Hopefully we can get an easier draw first-time round this year.

“Hopefully it does come home.

“Me and my friend have been talking about it. We will have some late nights at whoever’s house.

“I will be catching the last group game against Panama. I am going to watch that.

“I can’t say I have been to any England game before but when I went to St George’s Park they sorted us some tickets.”
