MANCHESTER CITY have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga.

City announced the arrival of the highly-rated teenager, who joins in a deal worth £10million plus £2.5m in potential add-ons.

Monga, 17, had been close to joining Arsenal earlier in the window, but City hijacked the move.

The Gunners had laid significant groundwork to convince Monga to sign, but they ultimately felt Leicester’s valuation was too high.

New Man City boss Enzo Maresca knows Monga well from his time with the Foxes, and played a significant role in convincing the rising star to pen a five-year deal at the Etihad.

Monga said: “When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me.

Monga made 30 first-team appearances for Leicester last term, scoring once and setting up two goals as the Foxes were relegated to League One.

The pacy winger made his Premier League debut aged just 15 years, eight months and 28 days old in April 2025.

He is the third youngest player in Prem history, behind Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.

Monga’s goal against Preston North End in August also made him the youngest ever Championship goalscorer.
