A man assaulted during a robbery bid on the Kandhwala Road near Nai Abadi last night succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.The deceased’s son, Anil Kumar, said he was on his way to drop his father, Ram Kumar, to the railway station when they were stopped by a group of unidentified youths. The accused attacked them with bricks and snatched Rs 500 from them before fleeing.Passers-by rushed the victims to the Civil Hospital, Abohar, from where Ram Kumar was referred to Faridkot, where he died.The police said a case has been registered. Superintendent of Police Ashwant Singh assured the family members that of speedy arrests of the accused.
