Dominik Szoboszlai‘s efforts in the 84th minute could have been thwarted by the Man Utd captain.
BUT as Fernandes went to intercept the ball he was obstructed by the English referee.
The Portugal international immediately raised his arms and ran towards England as he expressed his anger.
The ball went to substitute Milos Kerkez before Cody Gakpo shot it into the arms of goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The Red Devils – and Fernandes – will be happy to walk away from Old Trafford with three points as they stay third.
But Arne Slot’s men failed to distance themselves from Aston Villa and gain ground on United as they stay fourth in the Premier League.
Liverpool can drop to fifth tonight if Villa beat struggling Tottenham Hotspur.

Someone wrote: “Unacceptable from the ref. Been doing this more often lately. So bad at their jobs.”
Another wrote: “Bruno is absolutely right to have a go at him. He’s actually moved into the way.
“It’s so dozy – he’s got to be more aware of the situation than that. Bruno probably would have got to that loose ball first.”
Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for the Manchester side in the sixth minute before Benjamin Sesko doubled the lead less than ten minutes later.
Szoboszlai pulled one back with Gakpo making it two.
But it was homegrown talent Kobbie Mainoo who netted the second-half winner in front of the Stretford end.
Heading into the final five minutes of normal time, tensions were simmering and the referee did not help with his error in positioning.
