Now, per The Athletic, the Wales star is on the brink of completing his move to Old Trafford.
The deal is described as being in its “advanced stages,” though there are still said to be contract details that need ironing out.
United have been in the market for a goalkeeper this window, especially as Andre Onana extended his loan stay with Trabzonspor.
Another option was Sam Johnstone, a former Crystal Palace stopper who struggled to earn gametime at Wolves last season.
