MARK CHAPMAN is leaving the World Cup in order to present coverage of The Open.
The Match of the Day star, 52, has been sharing hosting duties this summer with Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates and Alex Scott.

The BBC‘s coverage has primarily come from their studio in Salford, rather than North America.
But their team, including Chapman, did present England‘s semi-final clash with Argentina from the stadium in Atlanta.

Despite being one of the BBC’s most accomplished presenters, Chapman is not staying on for this weekend.
On his Sports Agents podcast with Logan, Chapman revealed what he’d be doing instead.

Logan asked him: “Are you already kind of working out where you’re going to watch the World Cup final? Because you’re working on it, aren’t you?”
Chapman replied: “No, I’m not. No, I’m not.”
He then added: “No, I’ll be at the golf.”
On his plans for the final, Chapman said: “I’m doing The Open golf that weekend, and then I will drive back from The Open golf listening to Kelly and the build-up on the radio and then I’ll catch some of you on the telly.”

The Open is broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK.
But BBC 5Live has retained radio rights.
The World Cup final, meanwhile, will be shown on the BBC and ITV.
Logan is set to present the BBC’s live coverage, while Mark Pougatch is likely to be in the chair for ITV.
Spain will take on Argentina, following England’s late semi-final collapse.
The Three Lions led until the 85th minute, only for goals by Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez to turn the contest on its head.
