A CUT-down Fiat Panda is aiming for a world record as the narrowest-functioning car.

It’s a customised Fiat Panda which is just a fraction over 19.5 inches wide – almost a third of the original vehicle’s 57.5 inches.

The work on the original 1993 city runabout was done by Italian mechanic Andrea Marazzi, 30.

The single-seater is powered by an electric motor scooter engine with a top speed of 9 mph but is not road legal.

He is bidding for a Guinness record as the the world’s narrowest functioning car.

Marazzi previously said: “This started as a silly idea at the junkyard… I created something no one else has.”

He has created other “extreme” models like this in the past

One viewer commented on a YouTube video of his, calling the car a “work of art”.
