Punjab government employees and pensioners, participating in a mega protest rally at the Grain Market in Sector 39, Chandigarh, on Friday, over their pending demands, strongly criticised the AAP government.As the protesters marched from the Grain Market towards the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, police used water cannons three times and resorted to force in an attempt to stop them. Despite the action, the demonstrators remained firm and continued their protest, raising slogans in support of their demands.Punjab Mulazam and Pensioner Sanjha Front and the Sanjha Mulazam Munch alleged that the Punjab Government’s policy and intent towards employees and pensioners were not clear.The leaders said the government had gone back on the promises made to employees and pensioners, forcing them to organise the mega rally to expose what they described as the government’s failure to honour its commitments.
