THIS is the dramatic moment a huge WW2 bomb discovered at a sand and quarry was blown up in a controlled explosion.
The seven-foot-long, 79 stone device was found by workers at a site in Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on August 6, including cops and military teams to tackle the huge ordnance.
Dramatic footage has now emerged showing enormous plumes of smoke billowing into the air as the 1,100lb device was blown to smithereens.

Ahead of the war relic being destroyed by bomb disposal experts, seven residents living nearby were evacuated.
It was blown to bits after experts determined the device was too dangerous to move.

Specialist teams used sand from the quarry to build protective cages around the device before it was pulverised.
A 900m (2,953ft) cordon was initially put in place in the area before this was reduced to 200m.
It was later fully removed so people could return to their homes.
A Heidelberg Materials UK spokesperson said: “Well thankfully that’s not something we have to deal with every day.
“Earlier this week we uncovered an historic WWII bomb at our Barton sand and gravel quarry in Staffordshire.
“After its discovery within the excavation area at the southern end of the quarry near to the River Trent, our emergency procedures came into play and the police and military were soon on site.
“After establishing that the device was unsafe to move, bomb disposal experts used sand from the site to create cages to contain the bomb and subsequently carried out a safe, controlled explosion.
“Well done to our Barton quarry team for their calm and efficient handling of this unexpected event and huge thanks to the teams from East Staffordshire Police and the Ministry of Defence for their professionalism and diligence.”
The unexploded bomb was initially found on Tuesday, August 4.
Cops worked with specialist colleagues from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) to dispose of the ordnance safely.
All railway lines running between Tamworth and Burton-on-Trent were blocked on August 6.
Some trains were cancelled or delayed by up to an hour prior to the explosion, National Rail said.
The A38 and other roads that were closed were also reopened to traffic following the detonation.
