IT WAS a sickening crime that shook even the most experienced investigators: a woman murdered her friend and ripped her unborn baby from her womb, before pretending she had given birth.

Taylor Parker, 33, is now on Texas death row after the grisly murder and fetal abduction in 2020.

Parker built an elaborate web of lies that culminated in the deaths of her pregnant friend, 21-year-old Reagan Simmons-Hancock, and Reagan’s unborn daughter, Braxlynn Sage.

The horrifying case is now being revisited in a new Netflix documentary, Maternal Instinct, which is released today and includes interviews with Parker’s ex-boyfriend, Wade Griffin, and Reagan’s family.

The U.S. Jattvibe obtained the full, bone-chilling bodycam footage, parts of which feature in the film, showing Parker lying to investigators from her hospital bed.

Among her most absurd claims was the allegation that Reagan had somehow stabbed herself and was attempting to frame Parker for the attack after the pair began fighting.

Parker had spent months pretending to be pregnant, using a silicone pregnancy belly, faking ultrasound images, and even a staging a gender-reveal party – telling everyone she was having a girl.

As her supposed due date approached, prosecutors say she became increasingly desperate as those close to her started to question if she was really expecting.

Parker had befriended Reagan and took her wedding photographs, and celebrated the fact she was pregnant, before making her a prime target when she reached 35 weeks.

On October 9, 2020, she went to her home and carried out one of the most shocking crimes America has ever seen, attacking Reagan with a hammer before stabbing her more than 100 times.

She then used a scalpel to remove the unborn baby from her womb and fled the scene, leaving her in a pool of blood and Reagan’s terrified three-year-old daughter in the house.

The child was later found hiding in her bedroom.

Minutes later, Parker claimed she’d given birth on the side of the road and was taken to McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma.

But medical staff quickly became suspicious when she refused to be examined.

“What did we step into?” a hospital staffer says in the video, wide-eyed and looking fearful.

Law enforcement officers then arrive and are seen talking outside with ER doctors and nurses, begging them to make sure she doesn’t leave.

In a masterclass of interrogation, special agent Chad Dansby with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is seen sitting beside her and trying to get her to confess.

When asked direct questions about the newborn, she gives shifting explanations.

Parker appears visibly uneasy when Agent Dansby pulls up a chair beside her and finally confronts her with the truth.

“I’m just going to be upfront with you,” he says. “We know that you had a hysterectomy some time back, and you’ve claimed to be pregnant for a while, but you really weren’t.”

The revelation leaves Parker stunned as the elaborate story she had spent months constructing begins to collapse around her.

For the first time, it becomes clear that investigators know she was never pregnant at all.

She’s seen staring off to the side as agent Dansby explains they already have the main facts of the case, they just want figure out why she killed Raegan and cut out her baby.

“I really want to believe that you’re not a bad person, that you just made a bad choice, that happens sometimes, it’s okay, everybody does,” he said, following his training.

“What was going on? You’re going to have to help me explain it, because I want to believe that you’re not an evil person, you’re not a bad person.”

Using a soft approach, he tells Parker he wants to help her if she’s suffering from mental health issues, revealing his own wife had a hysterectomy.

More than 30 minutes into the shocking video, the reality starts to set in for Parker, who finally looks ahead and starts to decide what story she’s going to tell.

“Did you mean to hurt the woman?” he says, as she starts to sob.

“Is it the deal you just wanted a baby so bad that it just overpowered your brain and everything.”

Parker finally starts to break and says, “My heads been hurting.”

She then claims she had a stroke in 2015, something which has since been debunked.

Agent Dansby asks again for her to explain what happened, and how she came in contact with Reagan.

“She checked on me,” she finally says, revealing she is a friend who told her to come over.

Parker says she doesn’t really remember what happened, but Dansby isn’t convinced telling her, “Yeah you do, so what happened?”

The cold-blooded killer appears to be inventing her story as she goes, claiming Reagan grabbed her and accused her of being a liar moments before the attack.

She alleges there was a struggle, telling him, “We both hit each other and she hit her head on the table.”

Dansby is sympathetic, telling her, “Hey, stuff happens sometimes, it’s alright. So what happened here?”

He switches things up, suggesting maybe Reagan died and she was trying to save the baby.

Through tears, Parker agrees she was trying to save the newborn, but then admitted, “I really wanted a baby.”

“That shows what a good person you are,” he then tells her, keeping her on side before trying to grill her for more information.

She refuses to say Reagan’s name and, lying again, she says, “I don’t know what happened, oh god, oh s***,” while rubbing the sides of her head.

Dansby presses her further, asking why she was branded a liar by Reagan.

Things then take a bizarre turn, as Parker begins to claim her friend grabbed a knife and stabbed her, as she begins showing the officer alleged injuries on her hands.

“I don’t know why she grabbed it,” she says, through tears.

Explaining they fought for a while, Parker alleged Reagan fell and there was blood everywhere.

She then appears to struggle to keep up with her own narrative, telling him, “I don’t wanna lie.”

Parker alleged Reagan grabbed a heavy object and so she took hold of the knife, insisting, “I would never hurt her. I’ve never hurt anybody, I don’t have a record.”

“I can believe that,” Dansby tells her, but quickly gets back on track asking her what happened.

He then starts to grill her with more intent, and Parker shockingly claims Reagen stabbed her first, saying, “She told me that I was going to rot and that she’d kill me if I touched her again.”

Parker then makes her most absurd claim yet – that Reagan began stabbing herself with the knife to try and set her up.

Later on in the footage, she claimed Reagan asked her to take the baby because she was dying, and even alleged the newborn “fell out” of Reagan’s stomach before she removed the amniotic sac herself.

As the reality of her situation began to sink in, Parker broke down, admitting, “I don’t know why I did it, I’m not a bad person,” while worrying that her partner would hate her.

The interrogation grows more emotional as Parker says Reagan “should have killed me” and asks to send a message to her two children from a previous relationship.

After a long silence, other officers enter the room and inform her she is under arrest.

Pleading to know whether anyone would hurt her, Parker is then placed in handcuffs and escorted from the hospital to a waiting police car.

Prosecutors later laid out months of deception at trial, and after just over an hour of deliberations, a jury found Parker guilty of capital murder, sentencing her to death.

Death penalty cases in Texas typically go through years of automatic appeals and post-conviction reviews before an execution date can even be considered.

Her direct appeals are still working their way through the courts, and only after those are exhausted could a date be set.
