XABI ALONSO is already more likely to be sacked by Chelsea than win a trophy, according to the bookmakers.
Betfair make the newly-appointed Blues boss 13/8 to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of next season – shorter than the 10/3 on offer for him to win silverware in his first campaign.

The Spaniard arrives with a huge reputation after leading Bayer Leverkusen to a historic Bundesliga title in 2024, but there is already pressure given Chelsea’s brutal recent history with managers.
Both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior were sacked this season, with Rosenior lasting just 107 days despite signing a five-and-a-half-year deal.
Betfair have now released a series of special markets around Alonso’s reign at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are 17/2 to complete a Premier League double over Alonso’s former club Liverpool next season, while the Blues are 50/1 to win two or more domestic trophies.
The bookmaker also makes Chelsea 2/1 to sign a first-team player from Real Madrid this summer, while Alejandro Garnacho is 6/4 to leave the club permanently during the transfer window.
Betfair spokesperson James Mackie said: “Xabi Alonso is 10/3 to win a trophy in his first season as Chelsea manager having agreed to become their new boss last week.
“With Liam Rosenior’s reign only lasting 107 days, Alonso is as short as 13/8 to leave his position as Chelsea boss before the end of next season, while an exit as early as New Year’s Day is priced at 9/2.”
