The M&S foodhall in Bankside has been refreshed as part of the brand’s project to invest £90million into its London stores.

The redesigned shop, based on Southwark Street, closed its doors for 11 weeks to that the works could take place.

It welcomed shoppers back inside on July 3, showing off an expanded bakery that is 150 per cent larger than before.

Customers can now snap up treats from the new Mai Sushi counter, enjoy a takeaway coffee and choose even more from M&S’s iconic fresh food range.

Marks and Spencer’s Click & Collect service can be used, while a wide range of fresh flowers, specially selected wines and homeware and beauty products can also be bought.

Shoppers can also access the M&S Travel Money service and make returns to the store via self-service kiosks.

The grand reopening was lead by M&S Bankside’s store manager Rodica Ianc, who heads up a team of around 50 staff members.

“We’re delighted to celebrate the full transformation of M&S Bankside,” Rodica told London Now.

“The store now offers a brighter, more modern shopping experience for our local community, and I’d like to thank our customers for their patience during the renewal,” she added.

“We’re confident they’ll love the new additions, including Mai Sushi, the coffee-to-go offer, and our extended bakery range.”
