NEW YORK has been hit with a rare ‘dangerous and life-threatening’ emergency weather alert just HOURS before the World Cup final.

The state of New York and New Jersey has been subject to severe weather conditions in recent days due to the hundreds of wildfires burning across Canada.
A report showed that the air in New Jersey was rated as “unhealthy for sensitive groups” on Thursday.

There had already been calls to move the World Cup final due to these smoky clouds hanging over.
And now in a dramatic twist the World Cup final could be in further peril due to an emergency flash flood warning.
Citizens of New York received the emergency alert to their phones at around 12.33 pm EDT.
“National Weather Service: A FLASH FLOOD WARNING is in effect for this area until 3.30pm EDT,” it read.
“This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.”
