NEWCASTLE are in talks to sign Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City, reports suggest.
The Magpies are looking to add reinforcements after a number of their best players were poached by rival clubs.

Toon have seen star midfielders Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes depart for north London, going to Tottenham and Arsenal respectively.
That has left the team seriously depleted in centre midfield, while the likes of Anthony Gordon have also left for pastures new – the case of the England winger that being Barcelona.

But according to The Athletic, City star Nico is one player on their radar to replenish those numbers for Matthias Jaissle’s squad.
The Spanish midfielder arrived at the Etihad in a £50million deal from Porto in February 2025.
He has gone on to make 41 appearances overall in the 2025/26 season, but fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola when Rodri returned to fitness.
And the midfield flop only made the bench in Jattvibeday’s 3-0 drubbing by Arsenal in the Community Shield, being brought on by Enzo Maresca in the 78th minute of the game.
