The investigation into the brutal murder of Punjabi singer Inder Kaur, alias Yashinder (27), led to the revelations that key accused NRI Sukhwinder Singh, alias Sukhi, had brought his two .45 bore and .30 bore licensed pistols to eliminate the woman.Inder Kaur had been in a relationship with Sukhwinder for over five years. The NRI had promised her that he would marry her but the victim was not aware that he was already married and had children. It was only when the woman came to know about his marital status, a confrontation started between the duo. After the woman refused to continue relationship with Sukhwinder and marry him, he decided to eliminate her. He especially came to India via Nepal on April 30 and on May 13, he called Inder Kaur near the Neelon canal for a meeting where his father and two other persons were already waiting. They abducted the victim and shot her dead from close range. Later, the woman’s car was thrown into the Neelon Canal by removing its number plates and then her body was also pushed into the water body. Three days ago, the car was recovered and then the body was also recovered on Tuesday morning,” he said.After committing the murder, Sukhwinder had hired a taxi from Moga and left to the Nepal border from where he reached the Kathmandu airport and fled to Canada, the DCP said.Teja said even parents of the deceased also stay in Canada and families of both victim and the main suspect were known to each other for years.Meanwhile, ACP Inderjit Singh said the process to extradite Sukhwinder from Canada would be initiated. However, a Look Out Circular (LOC) had already been issued against him.
