And next week, he’ll be hosting the National Television Awards — for the sixth consecutive year — but doubts he’ll ever win one.
“I’m Romesh, but without all the awards,” he joked.

Joel is happy to be in demand.
“I love being busy,” said the dad of two.
“I love working and I love my family life, so feel very lucky.”
But he did DROP one of his many shows this summer — I’m A Celebrity. . . Unpacked — as he wanted to stay in the UK with his family.
He said: “You’ve got to fly to Australia, it’s a big thing.”
But he added: “I loved that show.”
Meanwhile, he’s waiting to hear if ITV’s Celebrity Sabotage will get a new series.
Hosted by Emma Willis and husband MATT, it saw Joel, GK Barry, Judi Love and Sam Thompson carry out comedy stunts, but got mixed reviews.

ITV have yet to say if it will return.
“I’d love for it to come back,” said Joel.
One show we’ll never catch him on, though, is Celebrity Traitors, as Joel doesn’t rate his chances.
He said: “I’d be a terrible traitor.
“I also don’t think I’d be a very good Faithful.
“I’m not good at reading people.
“I’d be going round, saying, ‘Oh no, I’ve got to decide!’
“I would crack under pressure.”
But his comedian pals Romesh, Rob Beckett and James Acaster are all involved in the upcoming BBC series and have given him the lowdown from Ardross Castle in Scotland.
Joel teased: “It’s going to be so good.
“I’ve heard some really good stories.”
Very soon, however, we will see Joel team up with Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr, who is joining The Masked Singer as a judge.
Joel said: “We start filming next month — it’s going to be fun.
“Alan is amazing.
“He and ‘legend’ judge Jonathan Ross will be really good together.
“This year is going to be the best.”
Joel will also catch up with his celebrity pals at the National Television Awards on Tuesday at London’s O2 Arena — and hopes to meet Sir David Attenborough, up for Best Presenter for the first time.
Joel said: “If I was on that list, I’d be petrified. If you ask, ‘Who is the best presenter?’ you can’t not say David.
‘I’ve met Mary Berry but not David, and I want to complete the pack of national treasures. What an amazing guy!”

BRENDAN IN DARK THRILLER
THE BBC has acquired a new drama, The Murder of Mr. Moonlight, which revisits one of the most talked about tales of modern Irish history.
The show explores the disappearance and murder of Bobby Ryan, played by Downton Abbey’s Brendan Coyle, and the events that would ultimately lead to one of Ireland’s longest-ever murder trials.
He vanished in 2011 and his body was found two years later on a farm in County Tipperary.
After an extensive investigation, Patrick Quirke was convicted of Ryan’s murder in 2019 and sentenced to life in prison.
Ryan was affectionately known as Mr. Moonlight – his stage name as an entertainer in local venues.
Brendan will appear in the show opposite Owen McDonnell, playing Quirke, and Sinead Keenan as Bobby’s girlfriend, Mary Lowry.
DOUBLE GRAND RETURN
FANS of Kevin McCloud can rejoice – because they’re getting a double helping of the Channel 4 favourite this autumn.
He is returning to front new seasons of Grand Designs and Grand Designs: House of the Year.
Both shows are returning following the successes of their previous runs, each averaging more than a million viewers.
Kevin said: “It is always a joy to get a series of Grand Designs complete and ready for broadcast – especially when it can run alongside its sister series, House of the Year.
“Together, they celebrate the very best in British architecture and remind me of the extraordinary, imaginative and resilient potential of human beings.
“This year is no exception, there are some astonishing stories and homes.”
Grand Designs returns Wednesday, September 16, at 9pm.
House of the Year will follow later in 2026.
LOUISE: GET THE HANKIES
EMMERDALE star Louise Jameson is set for an epic tearjerker of a storyline.
Louise, who recently extended her stay on the ITV soap as Mary Goskirk, says: “I have signed for a year but now it’s maybe even another year.
“ I do know that Mary is going to have an absolutely cracking story, and it is going to last a year.
“It is going to be one where you have to bring your hankies.”
She said of her major storyline: “It is such a blessing for an actor because you normally just work six months maximum in advance.
“I have now had five years on Emmerdale and this means six . . . seven.
“The joy of this job is that you have no idea what happens next.”
