Five personnel of the Uttar Pradesh Police were killed after the SUV they were travelling in lost control and crashed on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Haryana’s Nuh district on Tuesday morning.The accident occurred near the Dhulawat toll plaza under the Tauru Sadar police station limits at around 10:30 am. Local police and emergency teams rushed to the spot and began rescue operations after receiving information about the crash.According to preliminary reports, the personnel, posted in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, were travelling towards Palwal in a Mahindra Scorpio. Eyewitnesses said that near the toll plaza, the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle but lost control due to high speed and rammed into a vehicle ahead.The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the SUV mangled and killing all five occupants on the spot. Police said the bodies were trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated with considerable effort.Tauru Sadar SHO Shish Ram Yadav said initial investigations confirmed that all the deceased were Uttar Pradesh Police personnel posted in Jalaun, adding that the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jalaun has been informed in this regard.Police are in the process of identifying the victims and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
