OCTOPUS has rolled out a major app update for customers.
The UK’s biggest energy supplier has shaken up its rewards scheme, replacing daily coffee codes with a new scratchcard system.
In an email sent to customers last week, it said the new system would give players a chance to get “fairer coffee and even more prizes”.
Octopus said the move will mean hundreds of thousands of customers will now be able to win new prizes instead of a few thousand.

Before the shake up, codes were typically released every morning before 6am, giving customers the chance to grab their free coffee on the way into work.
Now the energy supplier said that users can get their hands on free coffee and lots of other prizes.

If customers don’t win instantly via the scratchcard, they can enter a second-chance prize draw for even bigger rewards, including a luxury trip to Dubrovnik for two.
But loyal fans of the scheme were left miffed last week after discovering the news.
Many took to social media to blast the chain, branding the move as “rubbish”.
Rebecca Dibb-Simkin, chief marketing officer, said: “We constantly innovate to make energy better for people, and Octoplus is one such example.
“We built it to reward customers for getting involved, and our new Monday scratchcard is the latest way we’re sprinkling a little joy into the week. ”
The news comes after the energy supplier made a major change to the scheme last year to release the codes daily instead of weekly.
The codes were previously issued in bulk on Mondays, which meant customers had to snap them up before they were gone.
