LIVERPOOL icon Philippe Coutinho is poised to join Brazilian side Santos for the remainder of the year.
The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving boyhood side Vasco da Gama in February.

He decided to step away to prioritise his mental health after facing increased pressure from supporters.
But now the attacking midfielder will link up with former Brazil team-mate Neymar at Santos.

While he is yet to be officially announced as a new player for the club, head coach Cuca has confirmed that Coutinho will be joining.
He said: “He has already taken part in the video meeting I hold with the squad, where we review plays from the last match and training sessions.

“He’s in great shape, cheerful, and highly motivated. We’ll be able to benefit from his presence, and help him as well.
“He’s a great player and a valuable asset to the sport.”
Neymar also shared a video of his former international team-mate on social media, welcoming him to the club.
He said: “Brother, we are so happy you’re here. Our squad and our fan will embrace you so you can be happy. Welcome to Santos.”

Brazilian outlet Globo.com has reported that Neymar contacted the Santos board to request the signing of Coutinho.
He also personally contacted his compatriot to persuade him to join.
Coutinho had been linked with a move to Mexican side Pumas in April, but ultimately decided against the move.
The ex-Brazil international has played for some of the world’s biggest clubs throughout his career, including Inter Milan, Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
