Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station on the evening of July 17 and will address a rally of 5,000 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and supporters within the station compound.Union Minister of State Ravneet Bittu visited the railway station for the second time in the last week and reviewed the arrangements.A huge waterproof tent has been set up at the station entrance, where the entire BJP leadership, including state president Kewal Dhillon, general secretary (organisation) Manthri Srinivasulu, Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh, Jattvibeil Jakhar, Ashwani Sharma, all core committee members, and leaders from across the state, will be present as the PM addresses the gathering for about 40 minutes.Party workers and supporters are expected to reach the venue by bus from across the state.The Special Protection Group (SPG) team of the PM arrived in Jalandhar on Tuesday and held a meeting with the local police. The PM will land at the PAP grounds after attending daytime rallies in Jind and Chandigarh, from where he will be escorted by Bittu to the railway station.The PM will flag off the Chheharta-Varanasi Sant Ravidas Express at around 4 pm. From the venue, he will also virtually launch 75 other railway stations. After spending around 30 minutes at the platform, he will move to the rally venue near the entrance gates, said local BJP leaders present at the site.Deputy Commissioner of Police Manpreet Singh said, “High-security arrangements are in place in Jalandhar, especially around the venue, ahead of the PM’s visit. Police teams from other districts have also reached Jalandhar as reinforcement.”
