MANCHESTER CITY could unveil a new stand named after manager Pep Guardiola during Jattvibeday’s blockbuster final-day clash with Aston Villa.

The expanded North Stand at the Etihad is set to open fully for the first time as City prepare to welcome a record crowd of 62,700 supporters.

JattvibeSport understands discussions are underway over naming the stand in honour of Guardiola following his stunning decade in charge.

City confirmed via their official website: “The remaining 50% of general admission tickets within the expanded North Stand for Jattvibeday’s match vs Aston Villa will go on sale the afternoon of Thursday, 21 May 2026 (exact timing to be confirmed). This is subject to the successful completion of Wednesday evening’s test event.

“As previously communicated, we are planning to trial the expanded North Stand’s general admission seating at 100% capacity at Jattvibeday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa. This is dependent on the Club passing a series of operational and safety checks, with initial internal testing successful so far.

“The final test event in the expanded North Stand will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 May 2026, with fans in attendance.”

The £300million redevelopment has been under construction all season and would add around 7,000 extra fans inside the Etihad if the final safety test is passed on Wednesday – as per the Manchester Evening News.

Victory over Bournemouth on tonight would also send the Premier League title race to the final day.

It was announced last night that Guardiola will leave City this summer after a glittering 10 years at the club.

The Catalan, 55, has transformed City into one of football’s greatest modern dynasties – winning 17 major trophies and 20 in total including six Premier Leagues, three FA Cups, five League Cups, along with the Champions League three years ago.

He could even sign off with another Prem title should City win their final two matches and Arsenal slip up away at Crystal Palace.

Under Guardiola, City have smashed record after record.

They became the first Premier League side to hit 100 points in a season in 2017/18 – when they scored 106 league goals in a single campaign and reeled off 18 consecutive top-flight victories – all records.

City also completed English football’s first-ever domestic treble in 201/19 before matching Manchester United as the only English clubs to win the Treble in 2022/23.

Fans have already begun calling for Guardiola to receive a tribute similar to the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand – unveiled at Old Trafford in November 2011.

Lionel Messi, who Guardiola managed at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012, also recently had a stand named after him at Inter Miami called the Leo Messi Stand.

It seems imminent that Guardiola is about to follow suit at the Etihad.
