The South London side are already drawing up a shortlist of replacements – with former Chelsea boss Lampard and Ipswich gaffer McKenna both emerging as surprise contenders.
Spanish coach Andoni Iraola is believed to be Palace’s leading target after confirming he will leave Bournemouth this summer.
But club chiefs are also exploring alternative options should a deal for Iraola fail to materialise.
Lampard’s inclusion on the shortlist comes after a stunning campaign with Coventry City.
The former England midfielder guided Coventry City to the Championship title and promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since the 2000-01 season.
McKenna has also seen his reputation soar after helping Ipswich Town bounce straight back into the top flight following relegation during the 2024-25 campaign.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank, ex-Nottingham Forest chief Sean Dyche and Fulham manager Marco Silva have also reportedly been considered.
French side RC Lens manager Pierre Sage is another name believed to have been discussed internally.
Palace chiefs are understood to want a new boss in place quickly so preparations for the summer transfer window can begin immediately.
And the lure of leading Palace into Europe next season could prove a major attraction as the Eagles attempt to land one of the hottest managerial names on the market.
