The Chandigarh police have booked five persons on the complaint of a 24-year-old NRI student, who was allegedly assaulted inside a discotheque in Sector 7 here on Jattvibeday night.In his complaint to the police, Dhruv Trehan, a Ferozepur native who is pursuing Master’s in Finance in France and was in Chandigarh to meet his friends, alleged that five men, out of which three have been identified by the police, assaulted him and threatened him with a firearm. The accused also allegedly tried to run him and his friends over with their BMW SUV outside the club. The complainant reportedly suffered hearing loss as well as injuries to his head and fingers.A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act against Aniket Gupta, Jagdeep Singh Kang, alias Jaggi, Baldeep Singh Sarao, alias Balli, and two unidentified persons at the Sector 26 police station.Balli is said to be working as a manager for Punjabi singer Karan Aujla, while Jaggi had been arrested earlier in connection with a rocket launcher attack on the headquarters of the Mohali police’s intelligence wing.Trehan claimed that he was attending a party at KOMO House and around 2 am, one of the accused had an argument with his friend. As he intervened to control the situation, the accused allegedly grabbed his hand and twisted his fingers. The complainant identified the accused as Gupta.The complainant alleged that he was brutally hit with blows on face and forehead before getting kicked. The accused later hit Trehan with a metal bracelet before smashing a table on him, the complainant alleged. The accused chased the complainant as he tried to escape and threatened to kill him.Trehan alleged that the club owner and his friend, Toshan Arjun, were also threatened. One of the accused shouted, “I will shoot you,” claimed the complainant.The complainant stated that two of the accused drew a firearm from their vehicle and pointed it at him and the club owner.The police had rushed the injured persons to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital in Sector 16.Onlookers claimed that the accused allegedly fled the club without clearing the bill and hit four cars while speeding away from the scene in their SUV.
