Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Friday accused the ruling AAP of abusing official machinery during the municipal elections. He congratulated the party workers for their courage in putting up a brave fight against the Aam Aadmi Party’s “highhandedness”.”It was their stated policy of ‘saam, daam, dand, bhed’ that was nakedly displayed during the municipal elections across Punjab,” Warring alleged.Till 9 pm on Friday, the AAP had registered victory in 48 per cent of the municipal wards in Punjab, while counting for the remaining wards was still under way.Warring claimed that the results were no real indicator of the ground reality in Punjab, and insisted that the “real contest” would be the 2027 Punjab Assembly Polls. There was “brutal misuse” of official machinery and police by the ruling party, he alleged. Despite that, the AAP could not cross the halfway mark, he added.”I reaffirm and reiterate that the AAP will not win even 10 seats in 2027,” Warring asserted.
