Rajpal Yadav’s financial troubles have taken a serious new turn. The Central Bank of India has initiated auction proceedings against two of the actor’s properties in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, over an unpaid loan of Rs 16.61 crore and Rs 64,000. The online auction is scheduled for September 9.The two properties, one in Shahjahanpur city and another in a nearby village, are together valued at approximately Rs 3.19 crore — a fraction of the outstanding dues. Adding to the complexity, properties belonging to his wife Radha Yadav and mother Godavari Yadav, who were named as guarantors for the loan, have also come under the bank’s scanner. Reports further suggest that auction proceedings for some of his Mumbai properties are also underway, though no official confirmation has been issued on those. The loan traces back to 2010, when Yadav borrowed money to finance his directorial debut Ata Pata Laapata. The film failed at the box office, repayment cheques bounced, and multiple cases were filed. In July 2026, the Delhi High Court upheld his conviction in seven cheque bounce cases, reducing his sentence from six months to three months while directing him to pay financial penalties.Yadav has not publicly responded to the auction notices. On the work front, he was recently seen in Welcome to the Jungle and is next set to appear in Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan alongside Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
