A REFEREE was forced to call it a night after suffering an injury during a crunch EFL play-off clash.
The extraordinary scenes took place during the crucial League Two semi-final second leg between Notts County and Chesterfield at Meadow Lane.

Referee Thomas Parsons hobbled off just three minutes before full-time with what seemed to be a hamstring injury.
The big tie endured a short delay as fourth official Ollie Yates replaced Parsons.
And the Notts County fans added to the ref’s woes with a brutal chant aimed at him.
The home end chanted: “You’re not fit to referee” as Parsons went off.

And spectators watching from home took to social media to share their two cents.
One fan echoed: “You’re not fit to referee.”
Another added: “Quite literally not fit to referee.”
A third wrote: “Great, so a million mins added.”

This one tweeted: “10 minutes added on.”
And another posted: “Can’t believe it.”
The game finished 0-0, which led to Notts County moving to the final after winning the first leg 1-0 at the SMH Group Stadium last week.
Notts will face Salford at Wembley after David Beckham and Gary Neville‘s side eliminated Grimsby in their semi-final clash.
