SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal has alleged that despite serious charges and arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Sanjeev Arora hasn’t been removed from the Cabinet because he has threatened to expose “how he collected money for Arvind Kejriwal and sent it abroad through hawala transactions”.He criticised the release of the controversial web series Lawrence of Punjab, saying that glorification of gangsters was dangerous and irresponsible, and appealed to filmmakers, OTT platforms and governments to stop making biographies that build a cult around anti-social elements.He reiterated that SAD was fully prepared to contest the forthcoming municipal corporations and councils elections.In another development, Virsa Singh Valtoha was appointed as general secretary and member of the core committee, marking his re-entry into SAD after a ban of over 10 years. Valtoha had earlier faced disciplinary action for making scathing remarks against former Jathedar Harpreet Singh and failing to substantiate claims that Jathedars were under pressure from the Centre, BJP, RSS and overseas Sikhs.
